The Midland Old English Sheepdog Club Open Show
Held at Roade Village Hall, Roade Northants. On 20th March 2011.
Many thanks to the committee of the Midland OES Club for the invite to judge their open show, my thanks also go to all the exhibitors who entered the show, but mostly those who actually attended on the day, with numbers dropping and costs rising the consensus is that we will lose Open Shows if we are not careful, Thanks must also go to Lyn and Dawn my stewards on the day for doing a good job, I was very pleased with the quality of the dogs and places could change at any time, but my only concern, please watch how you move your dog, to many where “strung up” or were “crabbing” move your dogs on a loose lead at a pace that suits them, the OES movement should be free and effort less Its forty years since we first had an Old English Sheepdog and I’d hate to see the demise of this unique breed.
Veteran Dog:
Henriksen. HALFNHALF HARIBO. 7 year old boy, good balanced head with a good bite, arched neck, with a straight front correct texture coat,
Puppy Dog:
Barnes MACOPA LOOK AT ME, a large boy who makes you look at him, good head with a defined stop, good bite, well arched long neck, straight front, nice laid back shoulder well balanced lots of good quality coat moved well. Best Puppy Dog, Res Best Dog
Harris BEAUVALLON APOLLO. Nice cobby boy smaller than first, good head with a defined stop and good bite, good neck and shoulder, straight front, well coupled good coat texture moved well.
Junior Dog:
Deakin OLDOAK NEW BEGINNING a nice young dog with plenty to offer, good head with a nice dark eye good bite, good shoulder Placement with good balance nice coat moved well
Taylor-Woods, SHINGDEK DAIRKEST PERU AT BUMBLEBOB, a nice boy slightly longer than first, good head, bite and eye colour, good neck and shoulders, good textured coat.
Novice Dog:

Post Grad Dog:
Kanales, Bushell & Backhouse, ARYAKAS IKAROS AT NOGGYBANKS. 2year old larger youngster, good head, bite, dark eye, well arched neck good shoulders straight front.

Limit Dog:
Windsor HOLANJA THE WILD ONE, a very pleasant boy to go over, good head, correct bite with a nice dark eyes, long well arched neck leading to well laid back shoulders, straight front correct angulation to rear, good clear textured coat moves with ease, Best Dog.
Cheshire MOLYNEUX SMOOTH OPERATOR a good dog slightly longer than first, good head and eye, good bite good neck good shoulders straight front well-balanced, good quality coat moved well
Veteran Bitch:
Winsons Ch MEISAN MOONLIGHT SERENADE, JW, ShCH one I have had the privilege to have judged before a most worthy Ch, lots to like about her, good head with a good bite, good length of neck well arched, correct lay of shoulders well balanced with rise to loin correct easy movement,
Best Veteran Res Best Bitch.
Hudson’s BOVARON PENNIES FROM HEAVEN AT HALFNHALF, 8years old lady in good condition nice head bite and eye, good front well balanced good coupling, moved well.
Puppy Bitch:
Jones BEAUVALLOON ARTEMIS WITH AMITYOAK. What a little cracker she is, 9 months old good well balanced head with a good stop and dark eye, good bite and lots of lovely dark pigmentation, good length of neck. Well laid-back shoulders close coupled well balanced, moved well. Best Puppy Bitch, Best Puppy in show.
Cheshire, MOLYNEUX SHE’S THE ONE. 9 months old cobby bitch smaller than one, nice head with correct bite, Good neck, shoulders, and movement not as precise as first.
Junior Bitch:
Oaks OLDOAK NEW TRICKS, 18 months old, good balanced head with a good bite and a lovely wall eye, good neck and correct shoulder, well coupled with a rise to loin well balanced, good quality coat of correct texture. Moved well.
Post Grad, Bitch:
Harris & Grover, BEAUVALLOON SWEETHEART, nice cobby bitch, good head, bite and dark eye, good length of neck leading to a good shoulder well coupled, good textured coat, moved close at the rear
Limit Bitch:
Bulls VALLEYDELL JEZABEL. Nice cobby bitch with a good head, correct bite and dark eye, good shoulders nice length of back with a rise to loin well balanced, plenty of good quality coat moved well up on her toes.
Open Bitch:
Torres/McEwan PORT/GIB CH BLUEBELLE DE RONDA SWEETS DREAMS, a well made eye catching bitch with correct head, bite and dark eye, nice length of well arched neck excellent shoulders, good length of back with correct rise to loin, good coupling well balanced, enough coat of a good texture. Best Bitch, Best In Show.
